This thing almost beats Bullitt for gasoline-fueled adrenaline in film.
Imagine if you will, strapping a camera to a high performance sports car and handing it over to a Forumula One driver and have him tear it up through the middle of Paris. No permits, no closed streets...that means traffic, pedestrians, pigeons and all of the other road hazards that one would expect while driving through Paris...except a hell of a lot faster. I'd love to find a DVD copy of this to run through a proper home theater. I yelled, I cringed, I got goosebumps, and that's with a 2-inch screen and one iPod earbud.
Wikipedia has an entry on Rendezvous, of course. It states that during the film, the car never got above 85mph, and that while the car was a Mercedes 6.9L, the sound was overdubbed from a Ferrari 275GTB. It still looked really dangerous, and the sound and camera angle make it look a lot faster than it was.
Whew.

Update: Should have read some of the Digg comments for that video. Car and Driver has the video for sale here: Rendezvous DVD
